|| Maureen's Career ||

Early Career
Before Maureen started dating Beatle, Ringo Starr, she worked at a Liverpool salon called Ashley Dupre Continental Hair and Beauty Salon. Maureen was a junior apprentice at the salon she worked there as a hairdresser and manicurist, and was taking classes to become a professional hairdresser and manicurist. Maureen ever hoped to one day open up her own salon. Like most sixties professional hairdressers, Maureen changed her name from Mary to Maureen.

After some girls realized Maureen was dating Ringo and found where Maureen worked, they would call up at Ashley Dupre Continental Hair and Beauty Salon and make an appointment to get their hair done. Most would curse and threaten to kill Maureen, if she didn’t stop dating Ringo, even though the girls were nasty to her she would continue to do their hair as though she was a professional hairdresser. Soon it became too much for Maureen to handle all the threats and had to choose between Ringo or her dream job of becoming a professional hairdresser and manicurist. Maureen chose Ringo and quit her hairdressing career.

After quitting her hairdresser and manicurist job, Maureen went to her boyfriend Ringo’s house to help his mom and step dad with fan mail. Some parents of fans would write her back and thank her for writing to their daughters. She even received gifts from people for her babies. Maureen continued her fan mail duty up until 1967, in which she didn’t have much time since she had two small sons, Zak and Jason, to look after.

Late Career
Maureen’s career after Ringo and her divorce was watching over her three children, Zak, Jason, and Lee. Occasionally Maureen’s mother, Florence, would help her daughter take care of the children.

In 1980’s and 1990’s, she helped her second husband Isaac run his Hard Rock Café and they’d travel around the States to open new ones. Maureen also helped her daughter, Lee decorate her clothing boutique, Planet Alice, along with her ex husband Ringo. Time to time Maureen would help cashier at the boutique. In 1994, Maureen helped her husband, Isaac to open up his new club LA House of Blues. Sadly, at the opening day of the LA House of Blues, Maureen collapsed and was rushed to the hospital where she was diagnosed with leukemia. Her son Zak donated bane marrow, but sadly Maureen caught an affection and passed away on December 30th.
